About Pastor Ed

Pastor Ed was born and raised near Plymouth, Michigan (a small town about 20 miles west of Detroit). After high school he went west and earned his BA in History at the University of Montana in Missoula. From there he went to St. Paul, Minnesota and received his Master of Divinity at Luther Seminary. He was ordained into the ministry of the Lutheran Church when he was twenty-five.

Pastor Ed has served congregations in Texas, Southern California and the Bay Area. These churches have been all kinds and sizes: new mission church, inner-city congregations and suburban...

Pastor Ed has said, " I believe I have the special gifts of preaching and evangelism/church growth". Also, something said at a Church Growth Seminar years ago has been a theme of his work in ministry: "When you come into a new congregation, find a need and fill it". That's been a driving force in most of the churches he has served.

Here at Our Savior's Church Pastor Ed officiates at worship services which contain the traditional along with the contemporary. As he says, "I always seek to make the gospel message of our Lord Jesus Christ alive, fresh and contemporary for all who hear and experience it".

As followers of Jesus Christ
we seek to:

• Know and Share God’s love unconditionally
• Encourage and Nurture spiritual growth of individuals and families
• Build and Serve the community
